Getaway to Plano Texas for the Weekend
Nestled in the heart of North Texas, just a short drive from Dallas lies the vibrant city of Plano, Texas. Known for its warm hospitality, booming economy, and rich cultural heritage. A getaway to Plano Texas for the Weekend is perfect for a girl’s weekend getaway. So, my friend and I packed our bags and headed to visit Plano for a memorable and adventurous girl’s weekend in this dynamic city.
Where To Stay In Plano
The drive from San Antonio was about 5 hours, and once we arrived at the beautiful Marriott at Legacy Town Center, we were ready to relax and enjoy our amazing suite.
Charcuterie Is Just A Sneak Peek
We were greeted with a charcuterie board and fancy water. This was just a sneak peek of what the chef at the Marriott had in store for us at our dinner tasting that was booked for the next night. The room was beyond wonderful, we didn’t feel like a hotel guest, they really made us feel like family.
Our Suite Was Sweet
As we entered the large living room there was a wet bar and bathroom to the left, and a large bedroom and another bathroom to the right. The front of both rooms was floor to ceiling windows, and the modern amenities were a welcomed treat.
The Woodhouse Day Spa
The hotel is situated in the Legacy Town Center area of Plano and offers restaurants, shops, breweries, and spas. Our first stop of the day was at the Woodhouse Day Spa. We both received a 2-hour massage and other spa treatments. I highly recommend starting any girls trip off with a spa visit, especially at the Woodhouse Day Spa. The experience alone is worth the getaway to Plano Texas for the weekend. They offer endless mimosas, a tranquil sitting room, and a wide selection of spa treatments.
Legacy Food Hall
After a relaxing morning, we were treated to lunch at Legacy Hall. Legacy Hall has revolutionized the culinary landscape by creating a vibrant and inclusive space with great food cool vibe, and a welcoming community. It has a diverse selection of food vendors, lively entertainment, a wine bar, and a commitment to supporting local artisans. Legacy Hall offers an unparalleled experience that captivates the senses and fosters a sense of connection. Whether you’re a food enthusiast or simply looking for a place to unwind and enjoy good company, Legacy Hall is a must-visit destination that embodies the rich tapestry of flavors and cultures that make Texas truly special.
Historic Downtown Plano Texas
There is so much to do in the Plano area. Whether you stay in the Legacy or Historic Downtown Plano. We had a good time exploring the historic downtown area. There is a pet-friendly park called Haggard Park along with the Plano Transit Village where you can catch The Dart Train that takes you through downtown Plano. After our visit to downtown Plano, we grabbed lunch and headed to the Shops At Legacy for some shopping. We then headed back to the Marriott for some relaxation and a cocktail.
AC/DC Cover Band At Legacy Hall
The evening started off with an appetizer and cocktail at Half Shells. Then we headed back to Legacy Hall for a special event, which was a live concert by an AC/DC cover band. We enjoyed some craft cocktails and great tunes.
Rock n’ Roll
The band was great, and they really brought me back to my days in the 80s. This was a great girls’ night out. There is live music most nights during the summer months, be sure to check the website for more information.
Have You Ever Tried Fowling?
This was my first time at the Fowling Warehouse, which may have been the best part of the trip. It is a unique experience and we had a great time learning how to play. The game is a combination of football and bowling. Each team stands on the opposite side of the playing field and tries to knock down their opponent’s pins by throwing a football. They offer food, fun, and friendly service. It’s a great place for a corporate event, special occasion, team building event, or birthday parties with your friends.
Checking Out The Local Coffee Shops
I couldn’t leave Plano without visiting a local coffee shop. We actually ran into some friends from San Antonio at the Toasted Coffee Kitchen. We got to help them out with a photo shoot they were doing.
Coffee And Cocktails
The coffee was great, and they have really good food. Be sure to get your picture at the outdoor swing, it’s a great spot for that perfect Instagram post.
Nature Lovers Paradise
We definitely want to check out some outdoor escapes while we were in Plano. Nature lovers will find solace in Plano’s extensive park system. Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is a picturesque sanctuary with lush trails, serene ponds, and scenic overlooks, perfect for hiking or biking. Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve is another gem, offering expansive green spaces, picnic areas, and a stunning lake for kayaking or fishing. Take a break from the urban hustle and immerse yourself in the tranquility of Plano’s natural landscapes. Any of these locations would be a perfect spot for the full solar eclipse that will happen on April 8th, 2024.
